Welcome to Inter-ethnic Project Gostivar (IPG), a local multi-ethnic non-governmental organization based in Gostivar, Macedonia.

IPG was established in August 2000 as a joint initiative of a group of citizens of Gostivar and the Dutch organization “Interchurch Peace Council” (IKV). From the beginning, IPG has implemented more then 25 projects and has supported over 45 projects implemented by local partners aiming to stimulate inter-ethnic cooperation and tolerance among different ethnic groups living in Gostivar.

As a locally based organization, IPG always aims to work on the interest of the citizens and follow the needs and developments in this municipality in general. Starting from 2005, the work of IPG has been focused mainly on good governance and the development of independent media. By finding different mechanisms to enhance cooperation between local authorities and citizens, through capacity building and information services, IPG advances the local participatory democracy in Gostivar. In all her projects IPG strives to strengthen inter-ethnic understanding and tolerance, promote human values and thus build confidence and stability in the north-western part of Macedonia.

The success of IPG is based upon its network, expertise on improving inter-ethnic relations, expertise in project management, credibility and roots within the community of Gostivar.
